Your website is often the first thing a customer sees. Choosing the wrong developer can cost you money, time and customers. Ask these five questions before you hire anyone.
1. Can I see live work?
Ask for links to websites they built that are live today. Open them on your phone. Are they fast? Easy to use? Would you trust that business?
2. Who owns the website?
Make sure your business owns the domain name, the hosting account and the content. Get the logins in writing. You should never be locked in.
3. What happens after launch?
Websites need updates, fixes and backups. Ask:
- How long is support included?
- Who fixes problems, and how fast?
- Can my team update text and photos ourselves?
4. Is the price in writing?
Get a written quote that lists what is included: pages, features, content, training and support. Ask what costs extra later.
5. How will we communicate?
Good developers give clear updates and one point of contact. Ask how often you will hear from them, and when you approve each stage.
A good developer asks about your business goals before they talk about design.
How we work at Codolla
At Codolla Studio we work in five clear stages, and you approve each one before we move on. Every launch includes 30 days of support and a training session for your team. See how we work, browse our work, or start a project.
